NYFWM AW16 Day Three

Perry Ellis: Always one of the shows I look forward to each and every year. Their creative director has done beyond an amazing job at breathing life into a brand that was nowhere nearly as cool as it is now not even 2-3 years ago. From the head-to-toe denim ensembles to a relaxed approach to suiting Michael brought the heat again this season.  Tim Coppens: You can really never have too much black, gray, or navy in your closet, and per usual this collection reiterated that fact. And a color combo of black, white, and camel? Yes please.  Greg Lauren: I’ve been asked a few times over the last few days what my favorite shows were this season, and this one is the one I keep going back to. The collection itself? Great. Oversized comfy sweatshirts are right up my alley. But the amount of thought and direction that went into the presentation blew me away. Shirtless male models boxing each other in an arena kind of helped too.  Cadet: Kind of crazy seeing brands grow up in front of my eyes, and this brand is definitely one of them. My first few times at NYMD Cadet was one of the brands that…

NYFWM AW16 Day Two

Ovadia & Sons:  Brother duo, Ariel and Shimon, always have one of my favorite shows of the seasons. From the sleek lines to the oversized silhouettes their pieces are ones you can easily translate from the runway to the street – something that’s not often achieved.  Nautica: Honestly, never wanted to be a sailor until the brand’s NYFWM AW16 show, and it more than likely has a lot to do with how handsome most of the guys were in the show, but equally as much with how well the brand has positioned themselves as a more fashion forward version of their former selves – just like their counterpart Perry Ellis. Even though it was their first show in a few years the brand didn’t miss a single beat, and it was hands down one of the best executed shows of the week.  Carlos Campos: We all know that I’m not one to wear a suit, but I think i’d make an exception for Carlos Campos. From the sleek navy and black paired suits to all white looks that I’d never be able to leave the house in without getting stained there wasn’t a single piece that walked down the runway…

NYFWM SS16 Day Four

Not gonna lie, Perry Ellis blew me away again this season, and their collection was hands down my favorite of the NYFWM SS16 season. The color palette was fantastic, the styling was spot on, and I love the direction Michael has taken the brand. Keeping my fingers crossed some of these styles make it into stores, because I’d honestly see myself wearing almost everything that walked down that runway.

NYFWM SS16 Day Three

Tim Coppens mixed and matched colors, patterns, and other mediums like a pro on the runway this season during NYFWM SS16 Day Three. TBH I never thought yellow, let alone neon yellow, would be a color that a light skinned, blonde haired guy could wear, but this collection definitely proved me wrong. Not that I see myself rocking neon yellow anytime soon, but I definitely am digging the combo of it with grey + navy.
