My mom has always been my number one supporter, and I’ve always been the biggest momma’s boy. Even during those years that we didn’t exactly see eye to eye. We come from very different generations, and I’m definitely more of a spitfire than she bargained for. But over the years I’ve luckily mellowed out and settled into a life all my own. A life that I’m glad to say my parents and family are proud of.
I still remember calling my mom 3 years ago and saying something along the lines of “I’m starting a blog.” She, of course, had no idea what I was talking about replied “How can I help?” Shortly thereafter I bought my first “real” camera and a new computer to get the business up and running, with her help. So when I say that if it wasn’t for my mom I wouldn’t be doing this today it couldn’t be more true.
When I couldn’t afford to pay my bills the first couple of months? She was there to help me every step of the way. When my camera was stolen before leaving the country for a week? She was there to save the day. The list could (and will) go on for forever. Because her heart is as big as they come.
A trait that she definitely passed onto to me. Something that’s definitely a blessing and a curse. But on day’s like today I’m beyond thankful for it. Mom has made an appearance or two on blog before, but today’s special. Why? Because she’s finally retiring. Something my dad and I have been pushing for, for a very long time.
And what better way to celebrate an occasion like that than with a special gift from Jared The Galleria of Jewelry. Because at the end of the day my mom has had the same jewelry for as long as I can remember. And when I saw this cat ring on their site I knew instantly the perfect way to mark this milestone. See, like me, she’s a huge animal lover. And while she doesn’t discriminate she’s always been more of a cat person than dog person.
Now that she’s retiring she’ll be able to spend even more time with her fur children, something that I know excites her probably more than anything else. She’ll now be able to join my dad and childhood dog, Maddie, on their morning walks. It also means that Mims, a rescue cat that I brought home, will have extra couch time in the mornings. And after all aren’t these the moments that we should celebrate more often? The moments in our day to day lives that make us happy. We don’t have to wait for those big moments to stop and celebrate. Those day to day moments are just as important as anything else. Maybe even more important.
It’s hard to know how to celebrate mom, because there’s nothing really worthy of her, but a new piece of jewelry is always a good place to start. And with Jared The Galleria of Jewelry’s selection you’re sure to find something worth of every mom.
