NYFWM Collections to be Excited About

Public School NYC: Hands down the Public School NYC presentation is the single event I’m most excited about this NYFWM (except for a dinner I have on Tuesday, love you girls) and for good reason. I heard the guys behind the brand speak last season during an AOL Build series, and their story is incredible. Not only are the clothes they put out top notch, they’re a prime example of chasing the dream and never giving up.

Anziveno Getty: What’s not to love about a collection that’s seriously mostly just fun short, shorts? I’m in, and if River is modeling for them – they’re definitely doing something right.

Perry EllisI’ve talked about Perry Ellis before, and I won’t lie – when I went to their return runway show I wasn’t expecting to be blown away, but Michael has done SUCH a good job with the brand. I can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve this season.

TheoryWe all know how much I love good basics, and that’s exactly what Theory is known for. I’m really, really trying to scale back my wardrobe and go with a more minimalist approach, and for that reason I can’t wait to see this presentation.

Timo Weilland: This picture doesn’t do the presentation in this space justice, it was one of the most gorgeous layouts and collections that I’ve seen in my few years of attending the shows. Timo isn’t afraid to have a little fun with his clothes, but keeps them looking incredible put together and polished – it’s a win, win.

Duckie Brown: This will be my first season getting to see Duckie Brown’s runaway show, and I love the minimalist approach the brand takes with their clothing – especially with the 50’s throwback vibe that they’ve got going on. It’s also a great brand for suiting, that’s not just wearing a suit and tie.

Todd Snyder: While I typically don’t wear a suit + tie or even a blazer for that matter, I do enjoy how Todd mixes dressier pieces, like this blazer, with casual pieces like terry shorts and classic white sneakers.

I’m seeing about 20 shows in total this week, but here’s a peek at the few I’m the most excited about. Follow along with me on Instagram + SnapChat (@TheKentuckyGent) to see what all I’m getting into this week!
