Honey Thyme Lemonade made with Bulleit BourbonToday’s post may come as a surprise. I wasn’t always the biggest bourbon fan. Yes, it’s true. That makes me a bad Kentuckiana, but on the positive side I am now. So I’ll break down why I wasn’t before because I’m sure a few of you are or have been in the same boat.

To be honest I was intimidated by bourbon in the past. The taste, the flavor profile, and the darkness of the actual spirit caused me to pause. But luckily my tastes have evolved over the years. Mostly thanks to the craft cocktail culture that is consistently growing in Louisville.

If you can relate then you’re in luck! Diageo recently introduced a new service by the name of Whiskey5.com that takes the guesswork out of my favorite spirit. All you have to do is answer a few questions, and it tells you what bourbon fits you the best. And trust me when I say it is spot on. For me bold, smooth spirits take the bat, and Bulleit definitely fits that bill.

Now’s your chance to find out for yourself what your ideal spirit is! Head to Whiskey5.com to select the two flavors that best suit your taste and use the sliders to set the intensity of each flavor.

Then grab the recipe for my Honey Thyme Lemonade below to craft a cocktail with what’s soon to be your new favorite spirit.
