I had an amazing summer. I traveled more than I have in a long time – most of the time with friends for fun and not for work. It was incredible, but I’m also incredibly excited that fall is officially here, and that means I’m about to be at home a lot more.
Which means that I get to focus on me. Time to focus on getting my house in order, cleaning out my closets, and continuing to push myself at the gym. I’ve been going to Orangetheory Fitness for almost 3 months now, and it’s been a total game changer for me.
Clothes are fitting better than they have in years, and I’m excited to see more results as time goes on. I had a long talk with one of my coaches last week about a few things that are still bugging me – like my belly fat not going anywhere. Her first question to me was “How much are you eating?”
Which is something that I still struggle with. I get busy. Forget to eat. Then I realize that I’m starving 4 hours later, eat half the kitchen, and then kick myself for it later. So over the last couple of weeks I’ve been focusing on having ready to go options for those busy days.Enter Gorton’s Shrimp Bowls. They’re not only quick and easy (done and ready to eat in less than 6 minutes), but Shrimp also happens to be packed with protein. Which is perfect for someone like me that’s trying to be as productive in the gym every day and just about everyone in between.
Not only are they done cooking in a short amount of time. They also make it easy to finish eating your lunch quick and easy as well. Which on those busy days is super important to me. Because more often than not if I skip lunch it’s because I don’t have “time” to sit down and eat.
They come in a few varieties like Black Garlic & Wine Risotto Shrimp Bowl or my personal favorite Stir Fry with Soba Noodles Shrimp Bowl. Meaning that there’s something for every palette! Currently my freezer is stocked with a few of each.
It’s safe to say that I’ll definitely be stocking up on them every grocery run. They make for great a quick and easy lunch, or when I’m in a pinch and need to fit in dinner before heading out for the night.
