DSquared2
Hats off to Dean and Dan for this incredible collection. DSquared2 is one show that I ALWAYS look forward to every season. I loved their play on “Orange Is The New Black” in this show. They took inmate chic to a whole new level. One of my favorite things about their label is the use of denim. It’s prominent in every season of theirs, but is always updated. I must saw the straight jacket look at the end was also one of my favorite.
John Varvatos
In typical John Varvatos style the boys walked down the runway in all black looks. The team incorporated leathers and metallics perfectly to update their signature looks. The KISS makeup on the models definitely made this a runway show to remember.
Missoni
Missoni’s use of patterns, textures, and prints are what always sets them apart on the runway from other shows. I’m especially love the layering of button up sweaters with full zips in different patterns, and how could you not love those fuzzy Birkenstocks?! Just remember – not everything you see on the runway is meant to be worn in real life, but those shoes looks great on the runway.
Woolrich John Rich & Bros.
Woolrich John Rich & Bros. did an incredible job mixing their traditional approach with modern colors in updated fits. I’m especially loving the military inspired looks and anorak jackets.
Baracuta Blue Label
Baracuta Blue Label’s outerwear pieces offer a fresh take on classic silhouettes. From the surprising camouflage inset in the hood of the last jacket, or the mixed media camouflage jacket, to the classic herringbone zip up jacket.
What were your favorite shows from MFW?! Leave a comment and let me know, I always love new inspiration.
