While I actually enjoy getting to take my own photos for the blog, it’s never easy and hardly ever fun. Well, until now that is.
Taking your my own photos ALWAYS results in at least two things, constant stares coupled with awkward conversations and blurry photos. Other than that it ALWAYS involves running back and forth between the spot I’ve chosen and checking to see if I’m in focus. I’m almost always blurry, especially when taking a full body shot. Every time I take photos it gets better, but it’s been a trail and error session since day one. However I love the opportunity to have full creative control over my posts.
I’ve written in the past about how to take your own outfit photos (How To Take Your Own Outfit Photos), and I think it’s high time to pen a second edition of this highly successful article. Major thanks to one of A Southern Drawl’s latest Photo Tip Thursday for finding the last missing puzzle piece I had left in taking my own outfit photos. If you’re curious what helped take my photos from blurry to extra crisp go ahead on over to her site to give it a read.
I took it back to my hair school days today in all black, something that I tend to do as the weather cools down. When overhauling the site I added a “Shop” section, and when I was done adding my selections to it I noticed that everything in the shop was either gray or black, with the occasional denim piece. Not complaining though – looks like todays are perfect for whatever my day throws my way. From lunch at my favorite sushi spot in the neighborhood, to dinner with my parents at Silver Dollar, or closing the night out with a fashion show at Mellwood Art Center. I opted for pairing my Zanerobe Mesh Joggers, from Zappos, with a denim jacket to keep the outfit casual, but the collar on the jacket dresses it up a little none the less.
