As much as I love Louisville and love the neighborhood I live in there are still times that I long for a getaway. I spent a lot of the summer traveling, and I loved every minute of it. However with the Holiday season upon me (and my current bank account balance) I wasn’t able to hop on a plane to curb my itch for a weekend getaway. Which got me to thinking about a “staycation”, and boy was I in luck because 21c Louisville came to the rescue with their Winter Fun Package.
While I’ve visited 21c several times to revel in the gorgeous art and chow down on some seriously delicious food at Proof on Main (if you’re visiting Louisville you have to try their fries, it’s a must) I’ve never stayed the night in the Louisville location. I mean, why would I? I live in Louisville, my apartment is a 5 minute drive from the hotel. Then I realized, why not?
You can’t deny that getting to check into a fancy hotel, where you can order room service any time of the day AND watch movies in a bathrobe while drinking bourbon hot chocolate and eating cookies, isn’t the best way to treat yourself. Which, let’s face it, is a god send this time of year.
Through February at 21c Louisville you can book a room for a night (or two) to experience their Winter Fun Package. In addition to a stay, this package includes bourbon hot chocolate for two, a milk and cookies turndown, Malin + Goetz peppermint bath amenities, a 21c limited edition print and the opportunity to blow your own glass snowman at Flame Run Glass Studio. Rates start at $303 per night, book your stay here.
Maybe you aren’t up for a weekend getaway in The Derby City (you don’t know what you’re missing out on, but I won’t hold it against you), and that’s ok because their museum is open 24/7 365 days with 3 site specific art installations that were constructed at the Louisville property and will remain in the building until the company closes its doors.
Proof on Main is one of the best restaurants in the city with an incredible bar and wait staff that serve up some of the most unique and delicious food and drink that Louisville has to offer, executive chef Levon Wallace and his team are masterminds at what they do.
