Yesterday was a good day. A very good day in fact. The kind of good day that involves landing a syndicated gig that will cover all of my monthly expenses in one fell swoop. To say that this month has been one hell of a roller coaster would be a major understatement, but everything has a way of working itself out for the best.
On the flip side of that when I was taking these photos I was all like “OMG, these look so great”, but then after getting home I was more like “On second thought..” So in other words – you win some, you lose some.
The biggest downside to being both in front of the camera and behind it at the same time is that I don’t always get to see the full picture in the moment. Because I’m trying to juggle being in two roles/places at the same time one ball is inevitably going to be dropped. Moral of the story? Slow down. Take a moment to stop and smell the roses. And for the love of God don’t take photos of yourself wearing a white shirt when you’re a white boy standing in front of a white wall.
In between taking these photos and accepting the writing gig offer I squeezed a phone call into my parents, and can I tell you just how GOOD it felt to let them know that I made it. Honestly – it feels so good to say that out loud. All the 14 hour days and long nights are paying off. I’ve never been more proud of myself/excited for myself than I am right now.
