I’ve not talked about it a lot, but I’ve been going through a few growing pains behind the scenes at The Kentucky Gent. I recently resigned from my full time job to focus on my efforts here and to do more freelance writing for Louisville.com, your home for all things Louisville, and yesterday I started a new job as a part time manager at a local boutique/consignment store, Urban Attic. So far so good! But before I could even begin that journey I had to face the age old question of “What do I wear on the first day of work?!” When in doubt always wear an outfit that you have a proven track record in, something that makes you feel confident, not something that leaves you questioning your decision to wear it throughout the day. Layers are also a good bet as you don’t know what the climate inside your new work place is. It’s always better safe than sorry! When doing paperwork I was completely fine with wearing both shirts, but once I got out on the sales floor and started dressing mannequins it was time to lose the sweatshirt and just wear the plaid. In conclusion if you don’t feel good in it, it’s going to impact other areas of your day in one way or another.
