Headed back to my basics, and I couldn’t be happier.
I’m finally feeling settled back into home after a long weekend trip to Chicago, and I couldn’t be happier about that. Traveling always takes it out of me, but I enjoy it. I try to always travel comfortably, and for me that’s a pair of jeans or jean shorts, a comfy t-shirt, and my favorite sneakers. A simple, yet stylish t-shirt keeps the outfit from looking like you rolled out of bed before heading to the airport, while the sneakers make it easy to get in and out of security.
Β I had put a lot of my eggs into one basket for this trip, and that didn’t exactly pan out in my favor. I’ve decided Pride Festivals are exactly the same in every city, besides more or less people. The experiences you have at Pride, like most anything, are directly related to the people you go with. All in all, it wasn’t my favorite trip, but I had moments of fun. A big tip I have a when traveling especially when it’s for a short time, do what you want to do. Even if that means you’re not going to get to be with the friends you went there to see or went with. It’s better than coming home and being like I wish I had done this, this, and this. It’s better to live in the moment, than to have regret afterwards. I’ll definitely be taking a trip back to Chicago before the summer is over to see some of the city that I wanted to and wasn’t able to make it to, but I’ll do myself a favor and not get my hopes up this time around π On a positive note this was my first trip where I didn’t check any bags, and I’m incredibly proud of myself. Not to mention it made traveling at least 20 times easier, and that’s always an added benefit.
