Hard to believe that summer just began a few days ago, and I’ve already been on trips to Florida and Chicago. But the real bit of summer is just about to begin.
This is shaping up to be the best Summer on record for me. Granted, several things have already not went according to plan like one relationship ending via text message while I was on vacation, and when I started seeing someone else that ended just as quickly as it began. For a few days this week I let both of those facts REALLY get to me. It was so bad that I slept in, I didn’t run, I didn’t blog, and I didn’t even interact on social media. Then I realized something.. maybe this is fates way of showing me that I’ve got bigger things in store than dating. Whenever I am dating someone I put more effort into that than blogging or being a friend, I lose myself and get so wrapped up in trying to find love that I end up pushing them away by putting all my eggs in their basket. After coming to this realization today, and it really settling in as I type this out I’m prepared to have a kick ass summer, and I’ve got some great news to share to kick that off.
I’m happy to announce that I’m part of the press team that will be covering Forecastle Festival for Louisville.com. I’ll be covering summer festival style, music, as well as events and after parties for the weekend. If you’re not sure what Forecastle is, and you live in the Louisville area be sure to check out the flyer below and consider purchasing your tickets while they still have them. I’m also going to be working on Summer Festival Style posts as I gear up for that weekend. This is the first of my Summer Festival looks as I wore it to Waterfront Wednesday this week here in Louisville. Comfort is of the essence at Summer festivals, and for me comfort is elastic waistband shorts and a oversized tank top. These camo shorts from Topman have been a life saver the past couple of summers. They breathe great in the heat and have plenty of give around the waist so that I’m not feeling too confined. What’s one of your festival must haves?
