I swear the weekends have started to get shorter and shorter now that the weather is warming up. Probably due to the fact that I’m trying to split my time between being a productive adult that has mile long to-do lists and enjoying patio weather with a cocktail or two.
This weekend, like the majority of those this year, went by a little too quickly for my liking, but I spent this one enjoying old and new friends both near and far, while I didn’t cross as much off my to-do lists as I would’ve like I laughed a lot, ate good food, and made a lot of memories, and I’ll take all of the above over checking everything off my list any day of the week.
I even ventured out of my comfort zone this time around, and spent most of my day Saturday in Owensboro, Kentucky celebrating one of the Connecting Thing’s crew recent nuptials. After that we wandered around the Owensboro BBQ Fest and devoured lots of street food, SnapChatted with abandon, and everyone except for myself rode fair rides. I decided to sit those out because an extra long corn dog, BBQ sandwich, and Grippos chips spinning around and going upside down on fair rides sounded like the least favorable option, especially right before a two hour drive home – totally get old.
This week I’m gearing up to get my ass in gear (5 months into the year is better than never, right?), and get ahead on some work, projects, and deadlines. Feeling like I’m always playing catch up is never a fun one!
