I think it’s safe to say that we skipped Spring and jumped straight into Summer, right? It’s been in the upper 80’s/90’s here in Kentucky for almost two weeks now, and while I love Spring I’m okay with starting Summer a little earlier than usual. Why? Because that means it’s BBQ season a little earlier than usual as well.

In typical Kentucky fashion I decided to christen my new grill with a Bourbon related dish, and boy did these Bulleit Bourbon BBQ Ribs hit the spot. This was my foray into cooking ribs, and admittedly I was a little nervous about. I mean, they’re definitely one of those things that you can either go REALLY well, or REALLY badly. I’m happy to report that these were fall of the bone deliciousness in every sense of the word though. Biggest tip from me is to pick up quality product, like I did with Smithfield when I was shopping Wal-Mart last. Living in the South I’ve definitely had my fair share of BBQ ribs over the year, and these ribs from Smithfield were quite possibly some of the most tender I’ve ever had the pleasure of chowing down on.
