I’m finally (mostly) recovered from Sunday’s kayak trip down Blue River in Indiana, and while I’m still nursing a bit of a sunburn on my shoulders – I’m otherwise back to normal, even though it’s safe to say I’m moving a bit more slowly than usual so far this week.
It’s true what they say, as you get older it is definitely 10x harder to drink like you used to without feeling like you were hit by a small train for a few days to come. Now I didn’t drink too terribly much on the trip, but I did manage to drink more beer than water and not eat until 4 o’clock on Sunday – which was definitely not my brightest move ever.
But anyways.. I had a meeting last night that I was both heavily hesitant about and honestly scared shitless. I’m not gonna spill out the details yet as I don’t know exactly when it’s all gonna pan out, but I will say this, I’m tired of seeing people with influence, reach, and a platform not use all of the above to affect change.
What’s the point of having all of that if you’re only going to use it to grow your checking account(s)? Don’t get me wrong, I love getting paid just like everybody else, but I also want to a legacy behind once I stop penning under this moniker – especially in light of all the craziness that is happening around the world these days.
Enough with the heavy, heavy. My apologies. The rest of this week is going to be a busy one though but a fun one, none the less. Got a little photoshoot today followed by Waterfront Wednesday this evening – if you’re in Louisville come on down! Sounds like it’s gonna be gorgeous weather for a night of free music on the lawn, and if you’re not tag along on Snapchat.
