Did y’all know that January is National Slow Cooking month? Cause I sure didn’t, and I’ll be the first to admit that up until now I’ve not been on the slow cooker wagon. But after whipping up these Apple Butter Meatballs in partnership with Farm Rich, I’m on board. (You can try out their Meatballs Jan.18-20 – see details below!)
You’re probably wondering to yourself, “Apple butter and meatballs?” Yeah. I know it sounds a little wonky, but trust me. It’s not.
The apple butter adds an incredible richness to the BBQ sauce, and it’s a different take on the traditional meatballs my aunt serves up every get-together. I had honestly planned on making a rendition of hers, but had ran out of grape jelly the day before I went to make these. I had a fresh jar of Amish apple butter sitting in the fridge though, and the rest is history.
