We were up early EVERY day for #SBScon, and at the time I wasn’t a huge, huge fan of it. I was like, “Dang, can they let us sleep in at least one day?!” But the more I thought about it and talked about it over breakfast (yes, breakfast before 8 am is a real thing, and it is glorious) the more I realized that waking up early every day while in Charleston was actually a god-send.
We were up, showered, fed, and able to wander around the city on the last day of conference by 10 a.m., which left practically the rest of the day for us to explore, and let me tell you exploring the city with Shelby, Katie, Jessica, and Julie for two days was magical. Most of my friends constantly moan and groan when we’re walking around town because I’m stopping every two seconds to snap a photo, or asking someone to take a photo of me in front of this pretty pink house or killer mural, but not these girls. They were troopers, which is why hanging out with other bloggers is my new favorite thing – ever. While I love living in Louisville this weekend definitely made me start to think about a few things, most of all it made me realize that I need to stop working so much and get out there and enjoy life a little more again. Self employed problems, seriously.
Note to self: never, ever wearing faux leather shorts when exploring a town with 100% humidity. Once I made it back to the hotel I had to literally peel them off my body, and thank god I had a room to myself as it wasn’t pretty.
