We were up early EVERY day for #SBScon, and at the time I wasn’t a huge, huge fan of it. I was like, “Dang, can they let us sleep in at least one day?!” But the more I thought about it and talked about it over breakfast (yes, breakfast before 8 am is a real thing, and it is glorious) the more I realized that waking up early every day while in Charleston was actually a god-send.

We were up, showered, fed, and able to wander around the city on the last day of conference by 10 a.m., which left practically the rest of the day for us to explore, and let me tell you exploring the city with Shelby, Katie, Jessica, and Julie for two days was magical. Most of my friends constantly moan and groan when we’re walking around town because I’m stopping every two seconds to snap a photo, or asking someone to take a photo of me in front of this pretty pink house or killer mural, but not these girls. They were troopers, which is why hanging out with other bloggers is my new favorite thing – ever. While I love living in Louisville this weekend definitely made me start to think about a few things, most of all it made me realize that I need to stop working so much and get out there and enjoy life a little more again. Self employed problems, seriously.

Note to self: never, ever wearing faux leather shorts when exploring a town with 100% humidity. Once I made it back to the hotel I had to literally peel them off my body, and thank god I had a room to myself as it wasn’t pretty.

Ha! I had major thoughts about the leather shorts thing in one of the last posts. Definitely love what was said about getting out and enjoying life more. A pretty good blogger (thequirckyconservative.com) is coming to my school, so hopefully it’ll be fun to have my first “blogger friend”

  • my sister lives on the other side of the country and whenever I go visit she parades me around the city to take her blog pictures by new painted walls/exhibits. I love taking them for her and adore to see the instant gratification of others commenting on how great the photos looks. We did a bunch by the Pacific and nestled in redwood forests last fall that are by far my favourite. Happy 4th of July weekend.

    • Damn, I need a sister like you! She’s lucky to have you.

Enjoy your 4th as well Allison!

Yesssss!! Our weekend together was pure and utter magic. Gahhh! Why don’t we all live closer? Also, why don’t we have unlimited funds to travel the world and wander around taking pics of each other? Damn it. PS – you would never know it was 100 degrees in these pics, you’re killin’ it.

    xoxo, J

    • I know! 🙁 I really wish we did all live closer, it would make life so much easier! We’ll just have to figure out a meeting place that’s close to all of us, and just meet up every couple of months 😉

Sending you an e-mail today, btw!

Yessssss I totally agree with all of this! Last weekend was amazing and you have a good point about the early wake up times, it was pretty nice having the full day to explore. (note to self: I need to become a morning person)

Anyway, lets get to planning our next adventure together! I can’t wait a whole year before exploring and taking photos with you guys! Oh, and I feel ya on the self employed problems…I need to get out, explore and enjoy life a little more too!

    Xo!

    • Yes! We definitely need to start planning our next adventure together. AirBnB is calling our names. I’m making it my goal to get out and explore a little more this week, especially after how much I enjoyed getting up early and wandering around Charleston last week!
