She’s my little shadow, my tried and true door greeter, and lovingly known in my friend circle as “Gremlin Girl.” And I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate #NationalLoveYourPetDay and all the ways she’s brought joy to my life than by potentially saving another pet parent’s life. After all, it’s not just families and loved ones that suffer when someone they know is in need of a life-saving transplant; their pets suffer too.

Nearly 1,000 Kentuckians are currently waiting on the donor recipient list, and each day, 17 people die waiting for their gift of life. Joining the confidential donor registry could not only make a difference in these people’s lives and the lives of their pets.
