“I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” – Albert Einstein
Last night I was lucky enough, thanks to Bella of Louisville and York Management, to both attend and be a part of IdeaFestival Taste of Innovation. Where we celebrated the best food and drink the city has to offer. In keeping with IdeaFestival’s innovative theme all of the restaurants and bars that participated last night took their wares to the next level with some of the most creative and delicious tastings that I’ve ever had the privilege of eating.
I was also lucky enough to have my own project for the evening. IdeaFestival’s creator Kris Kimel is a fan of the zombie culture that is preeminent in today’s pop culture and asked that we incorporated along those lines into last night’s festivities. After several brain storming sessions we decided to partner up with the up and coming brandy distillery in town, Copper & Kings, for a zombie themed bar with speciality cocktails for the evening. We didn’t just stop there though, I worked with a local makeup artist to transform some of our staff for the event into our very own zombies for the night. While I may be partial, it was definitely one of the highlights of the evening.
While most of you know that I’m a fashion and life and style blogger, I also wear a couple of other hats. Besides being on the committee and helping set up and organize the event I was also a part of managing the social media for the night. Working on events is quickly becoming one of my favorite parts of what I do now. If you’re in the market for a multi-tasking genius for any and all upcoming events, drop me a line and I’d love to help out however I can.
