Who would have thought that sunglasses could serve more of a purpose than just keeping our eyes shaded from the sun. Certainly not me. That was until SPY Optic reached out to me late last week about their latest collection. Their Happy Lens technology is the first sunglass lens that lets in the sun’s good rays while enhancing color and contrast in a way that can help you see better, feel better and perform better. The SPY Happy Lens is the first and only lens technology specially designed to foster a positive “uplift” in mood and alertness by allowing mood enhancing long wave blue light rays in the eyes. This technology effectively blocks the sun’s harmful UV rays while allowing the sun’s beneficial rays enter the eyes. When entering the eyes these beneficial rays are known to promote the production of serotonin in the brain, which helps us feel good. In essence, helping beat seasonal affective disorder. If you’re one of those people that doesn’t believe that it’s a real thing, try living through a winter like we’ve had this year and tell me it’s not. If I had known about these lenses I thought I would have been able to brave the cold, dreary days of winter with a little more pep in my step. Needless to say I’m incredibly stoked about getting my Happy Lenses in the mail next week!
Not only are the functional, but they’re fashionable as well. It’s a win, win with these guys. If you’re interested in learning more about this incredibly technology, or want to check out their latest collection visit their website, here. Be on the lookout for a full review on the lenses once I get a chance to break my pair in. But for now here’s a video that breaks down how the Happy Lens technology works.
