Being the self-employed guy, freelancer, and blogger that I am time is of the essence, and lately it seems that there is never enough time in the day. I’m constantly left juggling personal life and work life while trying to create some semblance of a normal workday, otherwise I’m working from the time I wake up until I head to bed. One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced since taking the plunge into the starving artist life is my schedule or lack there of, but on the flip side of that it’s also been a blessing in disguise.
I’ve never been the best at sticking to a to-do list or writing things down in a calendar, until now that is. Any appointment, phone call, or meeting I have gets put into my calendar as soon as I get the date and time for anything, and the newest addition to my tech arsenal, the Intel powered Dell Venue 8 7000 series, has been a godsend in helping keep me on track.
Besides helping keep me better on track the Dell Venue 8 7000 series tablet with its RealSense Depth camera has helped me take my photos to the next level. The 8 MPixel camera + two 720p stereoscopic cameras enable it to capture and measure all the depth information in a photograph, which in layman’s terms means that the amount of post-editing that can be done is practically limitless. While I may pride myself on taking some seriously stellar foodie shots there’s always one or two things I’d love to tweak after the fact, and with this camera I’m able to do that with a couple taps of my finger.
Since receiving my latest RealSense device I’ve been using it for all of my “work” related activities, whether that be checking out a post after it goes live or interacting on Twitter, and it makes the process of flipping that “off” switch for work SO much easier. Because let’s be honest, we’re all attached to our phones practically 24/7, and if we’re using that same phone for work it’s really hard to turn it off. Now thanks to my Dell Venue 8 7000 series tablet I’m able to create a more finite end to my workday by placing it on my desk before hopping on the couch to indulge in some binge TV watching after a long day.
