Neoprene Shorts

One of my favorite things about the change in seasons? Finding things at the back of the closet that you seriously forget you owned. Like these neoprene shorts from Topman for instance. I bought them last Fall when I was in NYC for Fashion Week – I had stayed over at a friend’s apartment down in Brooklyn, and instead of making the trek back to my suitcase decided to go shopping (totally logical, right?). I searched and searched and searched the store for something, anything that I could wear that I didn’t already have in my closet. These shorts are what I came up with. I wasn’t 100% sold on them the day I bought them, but I had a party to get to which meant there was no time to spare – quite literally. They’ve grown on me since then, and I’m looking forward to working them back in my wardrobe this season.

While they may be a little harder to pair with things than most shorts there in lies part of the fun, right? In the past I’ve worn mostly white tees with them, which is a great look don’t get me wrong, BUT since I’m still not unpacked from vacation or done laundry since returning all my white tees are currently unavailable. In the spirit of keeping things fun I opted for a mesh shirt this go around and was pleasantly surprised with the results, and by that I mean the shirt helped keep me cool while I was locked out of my car for 2 hours.
