We Love Lou, but where do we begin to count the ways?
What I’m Wearing: We Love Lou T-Shirt from Regalo, Topman Camo Shorts, and Chucks
As the fair residents of the Derby City begin to come down from the high that is the month leading up to The Kentucky Derby, I’m left wondering why this great city only sees that much love once a year. I’m happy to say that alongside Louisville Magazine, Louisville.com, and the MS Society with the help of VIA Studios; myself and some fellow Louisville lovers are about to celebrate what’s great about our home the other 364 days, 23 Hours, & 58 minutes of the year. We’re happy to present Best of Louisville at Play Louisville on July 31st! Get ready for a night you’ll definitely not want to miss, and that will be one to not forget.
I’m not even sure where to begin listing the reasons I love Louisville, but I’ll start with what a good friend of mine said, “The People.” This city is filled with some of the brightest, most caring, incredibly driven, and hard working individuals that I’ve had the pleasure to meet. I believe it comes from our small town roots, but has a lot to do with the entire city having our eyes set on a much bigger prize. We all want to be part of the movement that puts Louisville on the map. Whether that be local reality show winners like Damaris Phillips from “Southern At Heart” showing that our food scene is incredible or Project Runway Alums like Gunnar Deatherage showing that our city is incredible creative, if not a little bit out there. Speaking of food, I could eat somewhere different in Louisville every night, try a different ethnicity of food, and not run out of places for a long while. We were recently ranked one of the most UNDERrated on a Thrillist list, which I couldn’t agree with more. What goes perfect for food? Booze of course. We’re all about our bourbon bars and GQ recently included my favorite bar, Silver Dollar, in their top 10 whiskey bars in of the entire country. These are the first three things that come to mind as to why I love Louisville, so tell me yours? Whether you’ve from the Bluegrass state, or you’ve only visited. I’m sure there is something about the city that made you fall in love. Tweet me and let me know by using the hashtag #BestOfLou. I can’t wait to hear what you all have to say!
Stylishly Yours,
Josh Johnson
