When life gets crazy I drag myself out of the house.
Maybe it has something to do (or a lot to do) with me growing up in the country, but whenever I need to clear my head I take it outside. Whether that means going for a walk or run, strolling through the park, or hanging out my favorite outdoor cafe or restaurant. I find this incredibly prevalent whenever I’m traveling, even more so when I travel to cities bigger than Louisville (ie. my trip right now). Back home I’m used to being able to open up the door, walk a few feet and be in one of the two parks that are in my neighborhood. Being in New York I generally have NO idea where I’m going at even given moment, and by that I mean I’m incredibly horrible with directions, and my first few days in the city I always end up getting lost once or twice and then getting so frustrated that I hop in a cab instead of trying to figure it out myself. Big city life may or may not be for me. We certainly have a love hate relationship at the moment. Regardless of how I feel about the city at THIS point in time I’m making a conscious effort to spend some time outside today exploring Central Park. Tag along on Instagram to keep up with all my antics around The Big Apple.
