If you follow on Instagram I’m sure you can tell by now that I fell in love with Charleston this past weekend – seriously though, I didn’t want to leave. I was surrounded by people that truly get what I’m doing, and you may not fully understand that, but trust me when I say it’s one of the best feelings in the world, seriously.
Friday night we started #SBScon with a little cocktail reception on the patio at Charleston Place, and while it was as humid as all get out we all braved the heat to start the weekend off with a bang and open bar. I went out that night for dinner with some of the gals from Texas and Blair (which is SO good to finally meet her IRL, she was even more of a bad ass #girlboss in person), but called it a night early to be up in time for the actual conference at The Riviera at Charleston Place, which was just as gorgeous as our hotel. We heard from several speakers during the conference (including Blair), and it’s safe to say some changes are coming to the blog. Changes that will include a new website, once Blair has some openings and more organization + business savvy, read that actually keeping all my receipts and opening a business checking account. See, blogging isn’t always as fun and pretty as it seems!
I left Charleston feeling 100% more secure in my decision to take on blogging as a full time profession, and I have My Style Vita and Poor Little It Girl by way of Southern Blog Society to thank for that. Speaking of the Blog Societies there are several changes coming down the pipeline, and you’re going to want to stay in the loop – especially if you want to come to #SBScon next year.
From the good food to gorgeous homes Charleston won my heart, and I’ll definitely be backing a trip back sometime in the near future to do some more exploring. Also – keep an eye out next week for my guide to the city, from where to eat, drink, and even where to stay. It’s something I plan on doing more of whenever I visit a city, which means I’m excited for my trip to NYC (for NYFWM) in a few weeks! I’ve scheduled in a few free days where I’ll be able to wander around the city and explore and eat my way through that city just like I did Charleston.
