Some days it feels like I’m living a dream.
Scratch that – I’m living THE dream. Or at least the dream according to Josh Johnson. I realized this as I was walking through the airport on my way to New York, and I ran into one of my dearest friend’s dads. The inevitable question of, “What are you doing now?” came up almost immediately. I chuckled to myself a little and answered that I’m just being me and making a name for myself doing just that. This friend’s dad knew me from my hair school days and asked why I wasn’t doing hair (something that I really love once upon a time, and that I happen to be damn good at), to which I replied the reason I got into to hair was to be doing exactly what I’m doing now. I always envied the people behind the scenes quietly moving and shaking, making a name for themselves, and doing what they love. At the young ripe age of 20 I wasn’t exactly sure how to do this, but over the years I’ve slowly but surely made my own path in life. Step by step I’ve curated a life that I only thought was available to other people, but that I eventually realized was a life I had to create for myself.
