There’s no place like, there’s no place like (insert glass slippers here).
I do LOVE to travel, and I’m happy to say it’s one of the things I enjoy most about working for myself. For most of my adult life I was tied down to a “9 to 5” job with a set schedule. Many of those years were spent working retail so my 9 to 5’s weren’t exactly 9 to 5’s, and vacations were few and far between. Since starting the blog however I’ve visited California, New York, Florida (twice), and Chicago (twice). I’ve attended Forecastle and most recently Lollapalooza, and while I thoroughly enjoyed my Lolla experience there’s nothing as sweet as coming home. For travels days my go to shorts are these Topman camo shorts. Thanks to their elastic waist band they’re perfect for long road trips or busy days bustling through the airport. Kentucky for Kentucky shirts are a must have for long travels days (they’re great conversation starters, and I love to show the love for Kentucky when I’m on the road).
If you’ve not experienced Lolla, do yourself a favor and buy your tickets next year AS SOON as they go on sale (otherwise they WILL sell out). It was an incredible weekend filled with lots of laughs, good food, and even better music. I didn’t quite know what I was getting myself into when I first decided to attend, especially going by myself, but I’m so glad that I did. It was a weekend I’ll never forget. Imagine all the things you love about a city like Chicago crammed into one gorgeous outdoor park during one incredible weekend, and that’s Lolla. Some of my favorite performances were favorites of mine like Betty Who, Foster The People, Iggy Azalea, and Lorde. I was pleasantly surprised by some new folks that I had heard of, but never really listened to like London Grammar, Churches, and Lykke Li. Check out my playlist below for some of my favorite songs from the weekend!
