Tuesday Tip:
Instagram Like You’re on Vacation

I know I can’t be the only one that feels like my Instagram game is SO much better when I’m traveling or on vacation than when I’m at home, right? After pretty much back to back travel the last few weeks I’ve noticed a couple of things I do differently when I’m gramming while on the road; both out of necessity (like exploring a new city), and because I feel more inspired when I’m outside my comfort zone. If you can relate, hopefully today’s tips on how to Instagram like you’re on vacation even when you’re at home will help you like they have me, or if you can’t relate click on through to see some snaps from my trip to NYC last week.

An American Honey Summer

This post was made possible by Wild Turkey American Honey® via Mode Media, but as always all thoughts + opinions are my own. Thanks for continuing to support brands that make this blog possible!   I honestly can’t believe that I’ve been doing this blog full-time now for 6 months. It seems just like yesterday that I was getting fired from a job I hated, and feeling like that was fate’s way of saying, “do what you love.” I’ve been so wrapped up in making this blog profitable that I’ve kind of forgotten to stop and enjoy the moments that come along with that, like celebrating taking something that started out as a hobby and turning it into a lucrative career. Since I was home and not on the road last week, I decided to stop and enjoy the moment with a few close friends by throwing an impromptu get-together in my backyard, and what better way to do that than with a signature summer sip or two? Whether you’re stopping to enjoy the moment or celebrating a special occasion this summer, I challenge you to raise a glass (or two) to yourself. You wouldn’t be where you are today…

Pour It Up

Let’s raise a glass to the first official day of New York Fashion Week: Men’s shall we? To celebrate the special occasion I’ve teamed up with LetsGrabA.Beer to show y’all how to properly pour a beer, because I don’t know about y’all, but when it’s this hot out nothing sounds better to me than an ice cold beer. Pouring the Perfect Packaged Beer Place the neck of the bottle or lip of the can over the edge of a clean glass Quickly raise the bottom of the bottle or can to a high angle, causing the beer to agitate in the glass Pour right down the middle of the glass Lower the bottom of the bottle or can to reduce the flow until the foam rises to the rim Serve with a 1 inch head of foam The 4 Step Pouring Process (DRAUGHT BEER) Start with Beer Ready Glass, and then T.O.S.S. A Perfect Draught Pour Tilt/ hold glass at a 45 degree angle when faucet is first opened. Glass should be held 2 inches from bottom of faucet. Open faucet all the way with hand engaged at base of tap marker. The beer should be flowing at ~2 ounces…

Intel Power Inside with The Kentucky Gent

Power Inside

Disclosure: Compensation was provided by Intel via Mode Media. The opinions expressed herein are those of the author and are not indicative of the opinions or positions of Intel. Being the self-employed guy, freelancer, and blogger that I am time is of the essence, and lately it seems that there is never enough time in the day. I’m constantly left juggling personal life and work life while trying to create some semblance of a normal workday, otherwise I’m working from the time I wake up until I head to bed. One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced since taking the plunge into the starving artist life is my schedule or lack there of, but on the flip side of that it’s also been a blessing in disguise. I’ve never been the best at sticking to a to-do list or writing things down in a calendar, until now that is. Any appointment, phone call, or meeting I have gets put into my calendar as soon as I get the date and time for anything, and the newest addition to my tech arsenal, the Intel powered Dell Venue 8 7000 series, has been a godsend in helping keep me on track. Besides…

The Kentucky Gent, a men's fashion and lifestyle blogger, turns his iPhone photos into reality with timeshel.

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and timeshel, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #timeshelprints If y’all have been following along for long at all now you know that I love to Instagram, and by that I mean I love taking photos of my food, coffee, and everything in between. The only drawback to iPhone photos is that up until now they’ve been limited to my Instagram feed, but now thanks to timeshel I can turn my favorite iPhone snaps into photos that I can hang up around my home office.  Since settling into my new room + home office situation I’ve yet to put ANYTHING up on the walls or do any kind of decorating. Yes, I am that bad of a gay. It’s not that I hate decorating, BUT it’s that I never make time for it. When I received my prints I made the decision to get something up on my walls, and I spent this weekend repurposing an old picture frame to display those prints. Thanks to some twine, hangers, and timeshel I can now relive some of my favorite NYFW moments when sitting at my desk. …
