Liven Up Your Loft

Well, officially been living in my new apartment for over 6 months now. Time really does fly. Sadly it’s taken me almost 6 months to start feeling at home/putting work into the place. I can’t be the only one that feels like that though, right? While I do love living in an old cotton mill that loft life can be a little dreary. Bare walls, concrete floors, and exposed ceilings. Don’t get me wrong – I absolutely love it. But it’s taken me some time to warm the place up. To make it feel like a home and not just an open room with a few walls. My chief complaint about my loft is the lighting situation. It’s literally all or nothing when it comes to the overhead lights. Meaning there’s no ability to dim the lights or just have or two on. Until now that is. How’s that you may be asking? Because of Sengled. Their bulbs and corresponding app give me the ability to dim my bulbs, put them on a schedule, and just about everything in between. Which is why I’m very excited to be partnering with Sengled today to share a few tips on how to liven…

Nespresso Recipes

This post has been sponsored by Nespresso. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I can’t believe that we’re in the final stretch of 2017, and boy, what a year it has been. I’ve spent months and weeks on the road, went through a very rough breakup, moved into my first solo apartment, and just about everything in between. To say that this year was a challenge would be the largest understatement of the year, but we learn and grow into the people we’re meant to be because of the adversities we face. So, I welcome any and all challenges with mostly open arms. So when Nespresso reached out about me stepping outside my normal coffee routines and crafting a couple of alternative milk coffee drinks I was more than up for the challenge. After all, I’ve not drunk cow’s milk in a number of years. Minus the occasional chocolate milk cravings that I find myself faced with after a night out with friends. Fun fact: I tested allergic to cow’s milk at a young, young age, but refused to drink Soy Milk because I was the most ornery child. God love my parents. They definitely put up with a…

How to Have a Hotel Worthy Bathroom At Home

Disclosure: I’m participating in the #HygroCotton campaign with my friends at Carusele, but as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. If you follow along on Instagram you’ve no doubt are seeing that I’m spending quite a bit of time on the road lately. It’s hands down the best part about this job, and on my latest trip I noticed something. I easily spend an extra 10-15 minutes in the bathroom in hotels than I do at home. Why? Well, they’re always a relaxing and inviting space. At home though? Not so much. So today I’m sharing a few practical ways to have a hotel worthy bathroom at home. Because at the end of the day we all deserve a place that we look forward to relaxing in all the time, not just on vacation. Invest in Quality Towels  It should come as no surprise that investing in quality towels would be at the top of this list. Think about your favorite hotel’s towels. They’re almost always white, lint free, and super plush. All the things that your towels at home should be as well. I recently picked up some new HygroCotton® when I was out shopping, and I’m…

Pool Break

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Dr Pepper®. The opinions and text are all mine. #PickYourPepper #Walmart Y’all! I’m happy to announce that I’m officially moved into the new place AND unpacked. Well, except for three boxes in my bedroom. Still waiting on a new dresser to arrive, and that shipment is taking a minute. Everything else though? In its proper home. For right now. This is my first solo apartment so I know I’ll continue to move and adjust things as I settle in and add to my ever-growing collection. Currently in the market for a TON of new art to hang on the walls, so help a brother out! Where should I start the search? Keep in mind, I have roughly 13 foot walls. Meaning I have a lot of ground to cover. Especially as all the art from my old place barely even covers a third of the main wall in my living room. A few friends recommended looking into turning things like shower curtains or draperies into large wall art, and I’ve got to say – I’m a fan. Mostly because I have so much wall space to cover that I…

Perfect Poolside Companion

Disclosure: This post is brought to you by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CincoDeCayman #CollectiveBias Y’all! I’m mostly officially moved into the new place. Praise God. While I’m not 100% head over heels for it, yet, I do love it so far. More on why I don’t love it coming soon to a blog near you, but there are plenty of reasons to love it already. Like, a pool right out my front door. Can anyone say mid-workday pool breaks? Cause I sure can!  And speaking of those breaks, a Cayman Jack Margarita makes for the perfect poolside companion. With all the travel and life changes that have been happening around here lately burnout is real. Which is why I’m making myself take breaks now, every day. Because it’s really, really easy to work round the clock when you’re a one man show. Especially when you’ve got a lot to catch up on. But taking care of yourself should always be your number one priority.  So for the foreseeable future every day after lunch I’ll be backing up a book and a Cayman Jack Margarita to head down to the pool. Why? Because Vitamin D…
