The Kentucky Gent’s Spring Essentials

Spring weather is about as temperamental as mother nature was this winter. Your closet should mirror that. I love to work in light layers in the Spring. It allows me to stay cool throughout the day, but if I went out for dinner and drinks with friends I’m able to pop on my outerwear layer and not be left out in the cold.

A great time to stock up on light weight jackets is when stores mark down their coats to clear them out before Summer gets here. I’ll be wearing lighter jackets and layering pieces until it gets above 80 degrees though so I snatched this military style canvas jacket from H&M once I saw it on sale for $20. I’ve already gotten a ton of use out of it. It’s incredibly versatile as it pairs well with a dressed down look like today, or if I’m donning darker jeans and boots it looks just as great. These linen harem pants were a perfect addition to my closet for Spring! I loved my drop crotch joggers and sweats this summer, but can’t always be rocking those when it’s bright and sunny outside. Time to swap out your traditional joggers for canvas and linen pairs, and you’ll be set!

Stylishly Yours,

Josh Johnson
