I’ve been pretty absent the past week, in more ways than one, but in the end everything happens for a reason.
Thanks to a very serious case of strep throat I was out of commission for the better part of last week. I could barely muster up the energy to haul myself out of bed let alone take and edit photos and create a post, but like I said everything happens for a reason. I’ve had plenty of time this past week to take a step back and think about some things. I love what I’m doing with the blog, but I was putting so much pressure on it to be a well greased, timely machine that I was taking the fun out of it. Between this realization and one that I had on a parch bench in New York I will implementing some changes on the site over the next few weeks, starting today.
I’m most known for my laid back, jeans and t-shirt, style, and it’s what I do best. Meaning that it’s what I look best in as well. This is what I realized in New York. Whenever I try to wear something because I see it on another blog or in a magazine and think it’s “cool”, but I don’t feel comfortable in it, it shows. I mostly noticed this when I was being stopped left and right by street style photographers during NYFW while I was simply in a pair of shorts and a cut off tank top, but it was something that felt like me therefore I carried myself well in it. From here on out I’m going to do my best to wear things that I would wear in my day to day life. Makes it easier to help you all find your personal style.
Also – happy one year of reading my ramblings. The Kentucky Gent turned a year old a few weeks back, and I wouldn’t of made it this far without each and every one of you.
