Private School Blues

The Kentucky Gent in Zara Blazer, KR3W Button Up, WESC Jeans, Ray-Ban Wayfarers, and Steve Madden Troopah2 BootsI’ve never been a big fan of dressing up, probably due to the years I spent in private school wearing ill-fitting khakis and polo shirts, but as the years have rolled on I have developed a fondness for a good blazer. They’re a sure fire way to spice up an outfit; either over a t-shirt, for more of a Johnny Depp look, or with a plaid shirt like I’m donning today. Zara has a WIDE variety of blazers to choose from, and one for every budget. A well fitting blazer is guaranteed to have you standing out in the office, and maybe you’ll even catch the eye of the person across the way that you’ve been too nervous to ask out for a drink.

If you’re opting for a more casual look like mine just keep the next few things in mind. Leave the first few buttons undone, it’s cooler in more ways than one. Loose fitting jeans are socially acceptable again, thank God the days of nut huggers and depreciated sperm count are going to the way side, opt for them if you’re rocking a blazer. I’d wear boots every day if I could, and I think they play back nicely with the blazer; it’s something different. In summation just mix and match elements on your closet that you want to dress up, and before you leave the house grab your favorite blazer. You can’t go wrong.
