What to wear, what to wear when you’re doing a business related dinner?
Lately I’ve had several dinners, coffees, lunches, etc. that were more business than pleasure, even though I love what I do. Short sleeve button ups are perfect for pairing with jeans and a chukka boot or sandal if you’re grabbing dinner and drinks regardless of the occasion, but it definitely sends the right message when it’s a work dinner. It’s more pulled together than your jeans and a t-shirt, but doesn’t leave you feely fussy. When meeting with a new client or meeting with the team of a new project I’m working I want to stay as true to myself as I can while still showing professionalism. Always plan ahead and make sure to check out the dress code, if there is one, for the venue you’re meeting at it. If you’ve not been before it’s also a good idea to plan on getting there a few minutes earlier.
