Louisville is gorgeous this time of year, and this weekend was no exception. With the break from the cool weather it was the perfect time to do some exploring around Nulu during their Holiday Open House with Adrian. Just last week we were talking about traveling, and how we always feel inspired to snap a photo of this, that, and the other thing whenever it’s all new to us. However when we’re home the appeal isn’t the same. We grew up here, we’ve seen it all over and over again, but there’s still some magic left there, right? Whenever I’m browsing through my Instagram feed I realize there are still places and views that I’ve never seen before. This is probably due to the fact that I’m always “so busy” when I am out and about that I forget to take a minute to stop and smell the roses, and enjoy what makes this city so unique. I’m making a conscious effort to slow down, be present in the moment, and experience everything that presents itself to me this week.
When I’m out exploring comfort is key (hell, comfort is always key to me), but this time of year it’s also about staying warm. There’s nothing worse than having to call an adventure day short because you didn’t wear enough layers or your shoes weren’t warm enough. I’ll always throw on a flannel shirt before leaving the house, if I end up getting too warm I tie it around my waist, and a pair of jeans. With the weather cooling off your old sneakers may not be able to cut it anymore, and I hate wearing more than one pair of socks. Opt for a pair of shearling lined boots or sneakers like these from Volley, they’re comfy and keep my feet toasty no matter how long I’m out and about.
